January, 2008
Activity in the wine business in general seems to be very busy. Everybody seems to be pushing the envelope and planting new root stock. Prices keep going up for good wines and appreciation of wine is continuing, especially with all the new anti-aging and health benefits hitting the wire almost weekly.
The '07 season in Napa will be an absolute barn burner and history maker. The conditions were near perfect.
Our '05 recently released is getting to be oh so good and really evolving now and there is still some available at http://www.biallavineyards.com/store
The '06, which we'll bottle this year, is reaching the pinnacle of our winemaker's ability. He said he had a vintner visitor from Japan and who thought was going to faint after barrel tasting it in a get-acquainted meeting.
The big news is we have been in a relationship with Silenus Vintners since last year and now it's time to holler about it. Bob Williams and wife Joni gave up their real estate development business and took all their skills, acquired a Napa Valley Winery, and completely remodeled the place including a new retail / tasting room facility. Please go to http://www.silenusvintners.com and check out the place. The whole story is there so I won't repeat it.
What it means for us is we are fortunate to be in a small group, 13 to be exact, of very high end wines which are sold, showcased, and presented in the heart of Napa Valley right on the main drag. It means you can always go there send your friends there. You can taste and purchase our wine in the new tasting room, schedule a party or an event, or just play bocce ball. Or you can just hang out while letting the nectar of the Gods slowly engulf your heart, body and soul with some of the best wine in the valley--if not the world. Be sure to call and ask for Jason Moore tell 'em Vito or Linda sent you and you'll be treated like a true VIP.
We are looking forward to another great year. Our newly planted root stock, with much diversification, now kicks in--allowing us to make even greater wine. Our production is approaching 500 cases now, which is where we will stay in terms of growth.
We wish you a great start for '08 and as always thanks for sharing our passion.
Vito & Linda Bialla
