As you know we released our Bialla '04 Cabernet Sauvignon in time for the holidays, and the feedback has just been just tremendous. How lucky we are to have customers and friends like you.
Many of our customers travel the globe and as a result our wine is being requested in some very prestigious locations. It seems word has a tendency to leak out especially in luxury goods like wine.
Michael and Susan Dell are the new owners of the Hualalai resort also known as the Four Seasons in Kona and Michael personally requested our wine be on the wine list in the fine restaurants on the resort and "wolla" so it is.
If you haven't been to this world class resort it is to us the finest resort not only on the Hawaiian Islands but in the world. Some of you I know frequent this paradise and have some gorgeous mansions there. So now we don't have to ship to your residence in Hawaii and you can have your wine and eat it too (:.
If you haven't been there suggest you plan a trip and go check out http://www.fourseasons.com/hualalai/.
To add a couple of the finest restaurants we know closer to home, again by request you can now enjoy our wine at Le Colonial -- a must-go-to restaurant in San Francisco. Casa Blanca type atmosphere with the finest French/Vietnamese menu to die for. The owners are simply sensational people http://www.lecolonialsf.com. If you want to ask to marry that girl ask for table 49 and please keep that a secret.
In our own backyard in Tiburon, home of our label, the newest, hottest and most prestigious restaurant is Three Degrees located at the new Tiburon Lodge http://www.thelodgeattiburon.com/. Highly accommodating staff and rave revues for food in the press lately. Ask for Noel the Iron man who is the manager and say hello, a world class individual.
Of course in Napa we have The Bounty Hunter and it is the finest adult wine bar and restaurant http://www.bountyhunterwine.com/ designed like no other. A classic statement of wine sophistication where local adults can gather. I think that bar is my living room in my next life (:
Next item is the Tiburon Wine festival - http://tiburonwinefestival.homestead.com/index.html - Sat., May 19th 2007.
It is a charity event and sells out early. Please get tickets, it is a must attend function. This is such a fun event.
Imagine a gorgeous lawn by the SF Bay, great wine, sunshine, beautiful people (guys and gals), Gatsby-like dresses, big hats, happy people and many vendors you don't see anywhere else. It sells out fast so we suggest you get tickets early.
The Wine Spectator did a feature story on a couple of caves and ours was one of them -- see the Nov. 30th issue. If you'd like to see a film clip and virtual tour that Graperadio did simply click on http://www.biallavineyards.com/comments.html. Graperadio is the top pod casting service in the world and is phenomenal in reach and quality of shows and service. Simply go to http://www.graperadio.com and join.
A few months ago I was asked to join the Atlas Peak Appellation Board of Directors and gladly accepted.
This gives me an inside view of why we are what you would call in high tech a "hot spot " for wine.
Atlas Peak - if you don't know - is perhaps the hottest new appellation to be brought out of the closet. Grapes off our mountain quietly go to Stag's Leap, Caymus and a few more wineries. The legendary Koongsgaard is building a monster winery / vineyard and cave right behind us. Kathryn Hall, Texas billionaire, ex ambassador to Austria, who spent 100 million establishing herself in Napa, is our new next door neighbor. The list goes on. If you are not a Jason Pahlmeyer fan we suggest you round out your wine collection. Jason does his magic on our hill.
Finally we have our winery amenities almost complete with tasting room, gate, guest bunk house converted, bar in place, pool and stone deck etc., all overlooking the huge valley. Lots of love has gone in to this place and we are always pushing the envelope on how to make even better wine. More on this topic next newsletter.
David Ogilvy, advertising godfather, once said advertising should be relevant and have a sense of humor.
I think the wine business should be the same, which is our approach (:
Our '04 is halfway sold out so feel free to get in on the last few cases available at http://www.biallavineyards.com/store/ and enjoy the coming year.
Thanks for sharing our passion.
